LUMPY SKIN DISEASE VIRUS: APPROACHES TO ATTENUATION FOR VACCINE DEVELOPMENT

چکیده

Lumpy skin disease (LSD) is a caused by the lumpy virus (LSDV) of genus capripoxvirus. The responsible for serious losses to cattle industry globally. Vaccination most effective way controlling LSDV. currently available live attenuated vaccines are used in many countries and provide stable immunity. However, use these can sometimes cause postvaccinal complications animals. Attenuation viruses classical method associated with random mutations genome, some contain mixture different genotypes virulence. Hence, there need develop safe immunogenic vaccine that will improved protection against promising approach gene modification an capripoxvirus strain high immunogenicity protectivity. Sequencing analysis DNA genomes has resulted identification number genes whose protein products effectively stimulate antibody production host organism. These proteins able function both inside outside cell, neutralizing complement factors, inhibiting apoptosis synthesis interferons, reducing counter-inflammatory cytokines chemokines. Here, we review literature instances genetic manipulation encoding above proteins, resulting attenuation.

Genome of lumpy skin disease virus.

Lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV), a member of the capripoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae, is the etiologic agent of an important disease of cattle in Africa. Here we report the genomic sequence of LSDV. The 151-kbp LSDV genome consists of a central coding region bounded by identical 2.4 kbp-inverted terminal repeats and contains 156 putative genes. Comparison of LSDV with chordopoxviruses of othe...

Evaluation of Humoral and Cell-mediated Immunity of Two Capripoxvirus Vaccine Strains against Lumpy Skin Disease Virus

Background and Aims: Prevention of Lumpy skin disease (LSD) in cattle is heavily dependent on vaccination. Since the genetic structure of LSD virus has the close relatedness with other Capri-pox virus (CaPV). Therefore, the use of vaccine strains of CaPV derived from sheep and goat would be useful to protect cattle against LSD. Materials and Methods: The susceptible calves of dairy farms were ...

Lumpy Skin Disease

Lumpy skin disease is a poxviral disease with significant morbidity in cattle. Although the mortality rate is generally low, economic losses result from loss of condition, decreased milk production, abortions, infertility and damaged hides. The causative virus seems to be spread mainly by insects, and outbreaks can be widespread and difficult to control. Lumpy skin disease was confined to Afric...

Lumpy Skin Disease

Lumpy skin disease (LSD, knopvelsiekte) is a pox disease of cattle characterised by fever, nodules 4 on the skin, mucous membranes and internal organs, emaciation, enlarged lymph nodes, oedema 5 of the skin, and sometimes death. The disease is of economic importance because it causes 6 reduced production, particularly in dairy herds. It also causes damage to the hide. LSD is caused by 7 strains...
